THE ALBERTINE BOOKSTORE
If you haven’t yet made a visit to the The Albertine Bookstore in NYC, you are in for a treat. This beautifully designed book shop opened in 2014 as an initiative on the part of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, and is devoted to the exchange of French and English ideas.
LORD ROTHSCHILD’S "PORCA MISERIA!"
One of the many great things about living in England is be the ability to visit amazing manor homes on a total whim. There is manor after manor, castle upon castle that one can visit here. It has been a real treat being able to visit many of them.
SPRING RESTAURANT IN LONDON
Spring Restaurant, located in the beautiful and iconic Somerset House in London is one of the most extraordinary dining experiences I’ve ever had. Head chef Skye Gyngell truly has created “an experience which not only sings on the plate but lingers in the memory.”
A BRILLIANT PLACE TO STAY IN BERLIN
Having lived in Germany for a short 6 months, I had the pleasure of traveling a few times to Berlin without the international flight so I could make a long weekend out of it. Berlin is such a vibrant, exciting city — which I know is such a cliched statement — but there you can feel the city moving by the minute as you walk around. I love going there and it helps that we have such good friends living there as well. That makes visiting any city so much more fun.
THE MANY FACES OF THE SKETCH CAFE
The Sketch Cafe in London has long been one of my absolute favorite spots, especially for their unique take on important British tradition of afternoon tea. But with five different dining spaces, all decorated by star designers, and lead by amazing chefs, each becomes a unique dining experience.
Oh, TO GO TO VILLA ROCCAVERANO
Architect, designer, fashion maven, businesswoman, is there anything Mette Rodtnes of Rodtnes Studio can’t do? I came across the Danish designer by discovering her jaw-droppingly gorgeous house in Piedmont, Italy, where in 2013 she completed a restoration of the fabulous Villa Roccaverano.
THE GREYDON HOUSE: NEW TAKE ON OLD STYLE
Roman & Williams have done it again! This time, my favorite design duo takes on Nantucket.
CASTELLO DI RESCHIO IN UMBRIA
Nestled in the rolling hills of the history Umbria region in Italy, Castello di Reschio is one of those places that just seems too good to be true. That’s why I just had to see it. I was lucky enough to do so on my vacation to this magical region this past July and I am sure to find myself dreaming of a return visit in the near future.
HASBROUCK HOUSE
Formerly the Inn at Stone Ridge, this 18th century estate has recently been renovated and restored to be a beautiful, country chic getaway. Just two hours north of New York City, the Hasbrouck House sits on 55 acres of beautiful Hudson Valley grounds. Not to mention, a 100 acre orchard that is just a hop, skip, and a jump away!
THE BEEKMAN HOTEL
Downtown Manhattan is changing at a rapid pace which is making it one of the most exciting neighborhoods in NYC right now. One of the reasons I am most excited about this area is because of a newly restored hotel, The Beekman Hotel by the Thompson Hotel Group, which opened today near City Hall park.
